Heading out on this journey we knew today’s weather looked the most dodgy of this week. Looking at the radar, the forecast and out the window this morning, we made the call to lay over here at Country Boys RV Park in Madison, GA.
Wow, the earth here is very much red clay. Haven’t seen that in a long time.
We had a leisurely start to our day and I took advantage of this time to make up batches of sausage balls and olive/cheese puffs. I originally had planned to do this on down the road a bit in Vicksburg or Texarkana but, hey, what the heck. A rainy, chilly, dreary and lazy day . . . why not? Two batches each took up my morning. Of course, we had to sample some out of each batch. We approved!
The park office is a bit of a walk from our site; Dave gallantly went over around 11 AM and paid up for tonight.
So what did I do with my afternoon?
Absolutely nothing.
Sat in my recliner and dozed, which provided Maggie with a nap lap. Decadent, totally decadent.
Dave did some of the same for a while. That’s what rest days are all about, eh?
Maggie has had a bit of fun looking out the windows at people walking by occasionally, sometimes with a dog.
There’s something for every member of our family on this trip.
We’re looking forward to getting back on the road tomorrow, with our next stop being in Anniston, Alabama for one night.

Some times while traveling two nights in one spot is called for.
ReplyDeleteI always allow extra days when traveling between jobs, its nice to be able to stay an extra day instead of battling bad weather.
